On November 23, 2024, chanson singer Tess Merlot performed at a sold-out PAARD in The Hague, along with the Residentie Orkest. As part of the Symphonic Junction series, she performed an impressive program of classics by artists including Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and Charles Aznavour, as well as chanson greats like Dalida, Mouloudji, and Charles Trenet. The entire show was professionally recorded, primarily as a personal memento, but also with the idea that it might one day be released. A year later, Tess listened again, with fresh ears and a new perspective. The result: a selection of fourteen songs, including three of her own chansons, will be released on CD and vinyl on September 26, 2025. A unique live album where the chanson and orchestral power converge.
